Super
Loved it
Ok
A beautiful hall. Has space for around 600 people. The acoustics are fine. There is an elevator as the hall is on the 1st floor. The toilet is on the ground floor, which is not ideal for everyone. It's a long way to get there. Thick jackets must be handed in. The cost is 3 euros. There is also a bar on the first floor. You can get directly into the hall from the underground car park, saving you the long journey to the entrance to the town hall. We liked or liked the town hall, great.
I have already been to various events in the Gersthofen town hall several times. The program is very diverse and varied. Admission prices vary depending on the event. Depending on the event, you have a free choice of seats or assigned seats. The acoustics and lighting technology are good. The cloakroom is now offered free of charge. Unfortunately, you are not allowed to take drinks into the hall, but you can pre-order them for the breaks. The entire location is very clean and tidy. Safety is always ensured here with the support of the local water rescue service and the Red Cross. Parking spaces are available free of charge in the underground car park from 8 p.m.
A youth music concert took place there. At the reception you were warmly welcomed. There were also two points of sale and the staff was very nice. A staircase leads to the large hall where around 600 people can sit. Unfortunately I can't say whether it's handicapped accessible.
Play “Achtsam Morden” - Gersthofen town hall
01/20/2024
On Saturday, January 20, 2024, we were in the Gersthofen town hall to watch the play “Achtsam Morden”, based on the book by Karsten Dusse.
The play was scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
When we wanted to enter the hall shortly after 7:15 p.m. the doors were already closed.
It was explained to us that as an "innovation" there would be an introduction by an ensemble member before the piece. The doors must remain closed during this time.
Doors opened again at 7:35 p.m. and the performance began at 7:43 p.m.
In principle, introductions are to be welcomed, but this “innovation” was very poorly timed and communicated. There was no indication of this on the admission tickets or on the information monitors. Two announcements intended for this purpose could not be understood.
The piece itself was sometimes difficult to understand acoustically and was often played in an over-excited or hectic manner. Even if this hectic pace was intended as a dramaturgical counterpoint to the title “Achtsam Morden”, “well-intentioned does not mean well-done” also applies here.
Unfortunately, the ensemble also “played away” the point of the piece.
Sometimes READING is the better alternative!
